Diana H. Terrell, Ph.D.
Director

Dr. Diana Terrell is a Psychologist and Co-director of Delaware Family Center, which she founded in 1984. She received her B.A. and M.Ed. from the University of Delaware and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Temple University. In her clinical practice, Dr. Terrell works primarily with children coping with learning, behavioral and emotional problems, as well as with their families. She has extensive experience with parents involved with separation, divorce and adaptation to new family structures. She is a consultant to several local schools, providing evaluations, consultation and psychotherapy for their students. Dr. Terrell frequently provides expert testimony in custody cases pending in the Family Court of the State of Delaware.
Dr. Terrell also focuses her practice on the psychological aspects of disease, helping patients manage their illnesses. For fifteen years she was Director of Behavioral Medicine at the St Francis Family Practice Residency Program where she taught physicians in training about the psychological aspects of illness and recovery.
In working with clients, Dr. Terrell uses an action-focused approach, encouraging individuals and families to think about problems differently, initiate new solutions and develop new relationship patterns.
